Before there was Eddy’s Marketplace & Kitchen, there was Eddy — our Papa.

Papa Eddy was truly one of those salt-of-the-earth kind of people. He was deeply rooted in his community, devoted to his family, and happiest when the people he loved were together. Good food, great conversation, and plenty of laughter were simply a way of life.

To us, Papa Eddy represents so much of what we hope Eddy’s feels like — warm, welcoming, familiar, and rooted in community. A place where you can stop in for a coffee, stay for a meal, run into a familiar face, and feel at home.

Those values have always been a big part of our family, too.

We’re Sondra and Liz — sisters, business partners, two of five girls, and the big dreamers behind Eddy’s Marketplace.

Growing up in a big family, so many of our favorite memories centered around food and simply being together. Whether it was dinner at home with our mom, dad, and sisters, a meal at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, or discovering somewhere new while traveling , sharing a meal was always a chance for us to slow down and reconnect.

For our family, mealtime was never just about what we were eating. It was where we caught up on each other’s days, shared stories, laughed, and asked one of our favorite questions: “What made you laugh today?” It was simple, but those moments of being together became some of the memories we treasure most.

When we began dreaming about creating a place of our own, we kept coming back to that feeling. We wanted to create the kind of place we would love to spend time in ourselves — somewhere approachable and familiar, where good food and great coffee bring people together and there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.

And when it came time to give that place a name, Eddy’s just felt right.

Naming it after our Papa is our way of carrying a little piece of him, and the values he gave our family, into everything we do.

Today, those values live throughout both Eddy’s Marketplace and Eddy’s Kitchen. Whether you’re stopping in for your morning coffee, grabbing lunch for the mountain, wandering the Marketplace shelves, meeting friends for a cocktail, or sitting down and staying awhile over a meal, we hope Eddy’s gives you a chance to slow down, connect, and enjoy the people you’re with.

Because at the end of the day, that’s what Eddy’s has always been about to us - good food, good people, lots of laughter, and memories made together.
